Aliexpress: Jewelry Haul

I love to accessorize with jewelry but hate the cost that comes with it, and so I'm always on the lookout for cheaper more affordable options. I came across this website called http://www.aliexpress.com/ that I'e slowly come to love due to its hits and misses. I've purchased clothes, jewelry and other miscellaneous items from this website but this post is just going to consist of the jewelry that I've purchased so far.

TLDR;
  1. The entire purchase was under $11.
  2. Quality is comparable to Forever 21's jewelry. I've worn every item multiple times and they're not broken, rusting, changing colors, or falling apart.
  3. Shipping time varies as they are shipping from China. I think it a little over three weeks for the package to reach SoCal.
  4. Speaking of shipping, everything was packaged nicely. Nothing came broken. Yay!
  5. If you decide to purchase jewelry from aliexpress, beware that sellers usually require a minimum purchase of $10 for free shipping. If you purchase anything less than $10, be sure to add the shipping cost to your cart or they will cancel your order.

Here goes!

New glasses: Derek Cardigan 7008 Blackout

I decided to take advantage of the free glasses deal from Coastal.com. I mean, it wouldn't hurt to have a backup pair laying around right? I decided I wanted big(ger) lenses compared to my D&G 5010 eyeglasses and chose these babies.

Size comparison to Carmex Lip Balm. Notice the division and multiply signs? :D

An "=" on the sides 8D

Flexible spring hinges to fit those that have big heads like mine :P

And it all came with a case, glass wipers, anti-reflective lens cleaner, and tools in case the screws become loose.
It was my first time ordering from Coastal and I had to admit I was a bit sketchy on why they were offering free glasses (even though I had to pay for $15.43 for shipping and handling/insurance) . I came to the conclusion that with this type from promo and the awesome service I received, they won me as a customer with the way they do things. My reasons?

1. They have the "Try on View" option that lets you upload a picture of yourself with the glasses on which I find very useful. Go onto the site and play with it now. I dare you!
2. My order was shipped the next day at standard shipping (5-7 days), but right before they shipped it, they decided to upgrade my shipping to 2-3 days! WHATT?? How generous :) So I was able to receive my order just two days! Amazeballs.
3. They have awesome goodies that comes with the package (i.e. the lens cleaner and tool).
4. Their website is very well organized which makes finding the perfect glasses easy peasy.

The Best Blackhead Remover Ever!: TheFaceShop Black Head EX Nose Clay Mask

WARNING! This is NOT pretty!

NASTAYYY, but it works!

I've used this product for a little over a year now and a few things I've noticed is that, from my own experience, it works best on the cheeks right after a steamy hot shower. I have a hard time removing blackheads from my nose (maybe it's just stubborn). Another helpful tip is that if you put too thin of a layer, it won't peel nicely, and if applied to thickly, then girllll, you're just wasting product.

I bought this from Sasa.com but it's currently sold out :( I've tried to find it at The Face Shop store in Koreatown, CA, but it's never there and I don't feel comfortable buying skincare products via eBay!

Sasa Experience and Haul #1

I've always been eyeing the products from Sasa but I can never justify paying for shipping. Maybe I'm just frugal, but I just don't want to fork out money that I can be spending on something else.. like food! Muahaha...

So this is my first purchase from Sasa. For those that don't know what Sasa is, it's basically an Asian beauty store (much like Sephora), located all over Asia. They're very popular in Asia and ships internationally. It's very easy to order from their website and is in English. They have SO many products to offer, I don't even know where to begin.. I wish it were a tad more organized, but that's fine :)

Since this was my first time purchasing products from Asia online, I didn't know what to expect. I looked all over and couldn't find what people's experience were step-by-step. So here's my experience in short, from beginning to ending: I hope it's useful to you Sasa-Virgins!

06/10 @4:01PM- After choosing and paying for my items through Paypal, I immediately got an invoice confirmation through email.
06/11 @1:11AM- I received an email saying that my order "is currently being processed or packing for shipment".
06/13 @5:04AM- I received another email: "DISPATCH NOTIFICATION (Order deliver outside Hong Kong)". Along with the email, they gave a tracking number and the website to track your order from. I tried tracking my order but I couldn't track it! This was where I started to get worried because I didn't know where my package was! I contacted Sasa through their website, and just got an automated response.
06/14 @9:12PM- After waiting for an email response, I then decided to contact them through the email they said to contact if you had any questions (it was provided in the Dispatch Notification email). I figured what would be the difference if I emailed them through the website or the email? WRONG! I was wronggg!!!
06/15 @2:31AM- I received an email response (FINALLY!!) from when I emailed them via email. I asked why I wasn't able to track my package, and they basically said that since the package was being shipped internationally, it would take longer for the system to process. So at this time, I was happy they clarified this, I only wish they would have stated that to begin with.
06/18- I was finally able to track my package, by this time, it had already been shipped and UPSP had already received notification of it. By this time, I was able to track it through the UPSP website.
06/25- I received my package today and yes, I had to sign for it since it is a registered mail.

It came in a white box with a lot of those white foams. Each item was individually bubbled wrapped and so everything was secure. Nothing came broken. Since my items were shipped internationally, they said that I would received my package in 14-21 days, and this is with regular and not expedited shipping. My items came within 15 days in perfect condition. :)

Pros:
- They accept PAYPAL!!
- Affordable prices
- Thousands and thousands of Asian beauty products at an affordable price. If I were to buy the same products here in So Cal, I would have to pay double the price.
- They also carry high-end products
- Great customer service. I was impressed that they were able to answer my questions in a timely matter ESPECIALLY in perfect grammatically correct English! None of that Chinglish crap. Another plus is to consider is that they're on a totally different time zone than I am, so to receive a response quickly is impressive!
- Nothing was expired, in fact, all the products won't expire until the year 2014.

Cons:
- Since Sasa is located in Asia, shipping does take a while. But that's expected, right?

Based on this first experience, I would totally repurchase from them! Okay so that was my experience~ Now onto my purchases!! I have wayyy too much makeup and  so I decided to just try out skincare products :)
